Nasdaq Global Information Services Data Leadership

BjørnBjørn Sibbern is Executive Vice President for Global Information Services. In this role he is responsible for the strategic direction and overseeing all aspects of the company’s Index and Data Products businesses which provide solutions, intelligence and insight to the global capital markets.

Prior this, he was SVP and Head of Nasdaq’s Global Commodities business where he drove operational effectiveness and efficiency to grow the offering into a profitable and expanding business. Most recently, he initiated Nasdaq’s investment and oversaw the successful launch and first year of operations of Nasdaq’s Futures Exchange (NFX). He also served as President of the Nasdaq Copenhagen Exchange A/S.

Sibbern brings experience from both sides of the transaction business as he has held leading positions at Nordic broker firms and covered diverse leading positions at the Nordic exchanges.

Sibbern has also headed the Nordic Cash Equities and Derivatives Markets at Nasdaq, and from 2006 to 2008 he was Director of E*TRADE Bank A/S. Prior to that he was responsible for all listed companies, ETFs and Funds listed at OMX in Sweden, Finland and Denmark.

While President of the Nasdaq Copenhagen exchange, Sibbern also served on the board of the Committee for Corporate Governance under the Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs.

Before joining OMX, Sibbern was Head of Trading at Stocknet Norway and E*TRADE Bank Denmark.

Sibbern holds an Executive MBA, a Diploma in Business Administration and an MSc in Economics & Business Administration and Law from Copenhagen Business School.



David HirschfeldDavid Hirschfeld, Head of Operations  

Dave has over 30 years of experience in leading financial operations teams within industry leaders Thomson Reuters, Morgan Stanley and Citadel, among others. He has also developed and managed large-scale initiatives in big data, data retention and statistical and analytical modeling of securities data.

Most recently, he served as Global Head of Risk Partnership & Solutions at Thomson Reuters and currently serves as a Board Member for Panthera, a non-profit striving to ensure the future of wild cats through conservation.

Dave holds a Masters in Economics from The University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from Duke University.



Oliver AlbersOliver Albers, Head of Sales  

Oliver Albers is Head of Global Sales and Account Management for Nasdaq Global Data Products. His team is focused on creating innovative real-time and historical data products that provide unsurpassed market transparency to institutional, retail and individual investors. Oliver and his team are responsible for providing value-added consultative services to a diverse client base and for managing relationships with data subscribers.

Oliver holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from Ohio University and a Masters in Business Administration from The George Washington University.



Jeff KimseyJeff Kimsey, Head of Global Data Products  

Jeff is responsible for the ongoing growth and development of data products and services Globally. Kimsey’s team manages all outbound dissemination in the US and Nordics including equities, options, indexes, commodities, mutual funds and fixed income products.

Kimsey has been with Nasdaq since 2001 while holding the current role since 2008. He has previously held positions in Research and Development for the company’s Data Products division and Analyst in its Internal Data Products department.

Before arriving at Nasdaq, he worked at Micros Systems, Inc in many aspects of research and development including testing, development and product management.

Kimsey holds a Bachelor in Finance from the University of Maryland and a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University.



Robert J. HughesRobert J. Hughes, Head of Index and Advisor Solutions  

Robert is responsible for managing and developing the Nasdaq Global Index business across the index licensing, benchmarking and custom calculation segments. He works with his global team to devise strategies and create business opportunities for current and prospective clients. Hughes previously served as Director for the Independent Research Network (IRN), a joint venture co-owned by Nasdaq® and Reuters. He spent more than a decade in Investors Relations and was also employed with Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor.

Hughes received a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and was a Monogram winner for the University’s nationally-renowned football team.



Dave GedeonDave Gedeon, Head of Research and Development, Nasdaq Global Information Services  

Dave is responsible for the index product management, development and research of Nasdaq Global Indexes, a leading global index provider that calculates more than 40,000 indexes spanning all major asset classes and geographies.

Under Gedeon’s direction, Nasdaq has launched thousands of indexes resulting in both innovative benchmarks and index-tracking products. Notable launches include the Nasdaq US All Market Family, the Nasdaq Multi-Asset Family, the Nasdaq Commodity Index Family, and Nasdaq Smart Sectors.

Gedeon has been instrumental in leading the expansion of Nasdaq’s Smart Beta suite with the acquisition the Nasdaq Dividend AchieversTM, Nasdaq AlphaDEX® and Dorsey, Wright & Associates’ brands. Under his management, Nasdaq has become one of the largest providers of smart beta index strategies (based on ETF AUM associated to these indexes). He holds a B.A. in economics from Denison University.
