What is MiFID II?

The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) partly replaces and recasts MiFID I, whilst Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR) partially replaces the MiFID I framework and also amends EMIR. The overarching purpose of MiFID II is to improve the functioning of financial markets making them more efficient, resilient and transparent.
