Oliver Albers, Global Head of Sales and Strategic Partnerships (Rockville, MD / New York, NY)

Oliver Albers leads Nasdaq’s strategic partnership program, including the sales and account management teams for the firm’s Information Services business line. Encompassing core data products, index creation and ETF partnerships, Nasdaq Dorsey Wright, and Nasdaq’s machine intelligence initiatives, he is responsible for bringing to market next generation solutions that touch every type of capital market participant—from retail investors looking for real-time information, to startups searching for accurate and cost-effective data, wealth managers building and protecting portfolios with smarter tools, and large broker-dealers and asset management firms advancing their trading strategies and infrastructures.

With two decades of experience at Nasdaq, Albers is a seasoned business development leader and key driver of new initiatives—bolstered by his previous work in marketing, research, and product development. He continues to be an instrumental driver in the launch of numerous industry-shifting milestones including the Nasdaq Closing Cross, Net Order Imbalance Information, Nasdaq Basic (saving participants, globally, $140mm+), Nasdaq Last Sale (transforming online distribution of stock prices), Trading Insights, and the Analytics Hub (a spearhead for Nasdaq’s new machine intelligence engines).

For Albers, his greatest responsibility is listening to clients and partners, so that he can shape Nasdaq’s products and services to help them achieve their goals. 

He received his BS in Marketing and International Business from Ohio University and his MBA from The George Washington University.


Americas Team

Brandon Tepper - thumbBrandon Tepper, Head of Americas Sales (New York, NY)

Brandon has been with Nasdaq since 2000, joining the Global Information Services team in 2008. Leveraging more than 15 years of fin-tech industry experience, Brandon serves as the head of sales for global market data and investment analytics data in the Americas. Brandon’s team works directly with a wide spectrum of clients ranging from Wall Street firms to startups using data to power new mobile fin-tech applications. Previously, he was a Director for the Nasdaq Market Intelligence Desk (MID) and Nasdaq Online.

Brandon holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland.


Michael Markes - thumbMichael Markes, Managing Director (New York, NY)

Based in New York, Michael primarily focuses on clients in New England, New York City area, as well as states on the eastern seaboard from Georgia to Florida. He joined Nasdaq in 2010, and has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry working at Thomson Reuters, BT Radianz and The London Stock Exchange.

Michael has a B.A. Joint Honors in French and German from the University of Hull, England.


Devin McCarthy - thumbDevin McCarthy, Managing Director (New York, NY)

Devin primarily oversees accounts from the Mid-Atlantic to the South Eastern United States. He has been with Nasdaq for nine years, originally joining the team as Sales Analyst and quickly becoming a valuable member of the sales team.

He holds a B.S. in Public Relations from the University of South Carolina.


Brian SweeneyBrian Sweeney, Sales Director (New York, NY)

Brian has a wide array of experience in electronic trading, trading technology and operations. He began his career as an options specialist at both Citi and Hull Trading. Brian initially gained exposure to electronic trading at Marco Polo Capital Markets and then at XP Securities where he ran electronic sales trading for U.S and European based clients. 

A Dublin native, Brian was educated at Terenure College and University College of Dublin, where he received a BA in economics and English. He resides in New York City with his wife, Fabienne and two children, Liam and Xavier. 


Michael Taylor Michael Taylor, Director (Toronto, ON)

Michael is based out of Toronto, Canada and is responsible for clients all across Canada as well as in Washington, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and New York City.

Michael joined the Nasdaq Market Data team from Nasdaq CXC, which was part of the Chi-X Canada acquisition in February 2016, and was with Chi-X Canada since January 2011. Michael has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial industry where he has worked at the TMX, E*Trade Canada and Manulife Financial. 


Robert HirschRobert Hirsch, Managing Director (New York, NY)

Robert and his team provide value-added consultative services to select clients within the investment management and buyside community. Prior to Nasdaq, Robert held various roles at S&P Global Market Intelligence. He joined Nasdaq to lead the commercial efforts for the Nasdaq Analytics Hub. This is a proprietary platform that asset managers, institutional investors, hedge funds, and prop trading firms depend on to keep up with rapidly changing technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), Natural Language processing (NLP), Machine Learning, and other innovations so they can capitalize on the earliest tradable alpha signals and information. Robert consults clients on the exploration and use cases for alternative data sources that can translate into critical information, trading signals and/or longer term investment ideas. In addition, Robert oversees the commercial efforts for the Nasdaq Fund Network along with Nasdaq’s legacy proprietary services for buy side firms.


Stephen CalanniStephen Calanni, Sales Executive Specialist (Chicago, IL)

Stephen has been with Nasdaq since 2014 and has spent all 4 years of his career with the Nasdaq Global Information Services group. Located in Chicago, Stephen started his tenure at Nasdaq supporting the global sales team and transitioned into managing the Chicago-based accounts in 2016.

Stephen graduated from the University of Maryland in 2014 and holds a B.S. in English Language & Literature.


European Team

James McKeone - thumbJames McKeone, Head of European Sales (London)

In this role, James is responsible for leading the European Nordics data team. A key part of his role is to build and maintain long-term partnerships with clients and business leaders, and to influence the European side of the business by staying ahead of trends and regulations affecting the market. Prior to joining Nasdaq, James was a sales manager at Bloomberg LP.

James has a B.A. from Bristol University, UK, and is fluent in both French and German.


Thomas Bregnbak - thumbThomas Bregnbak, Managing Director (Copenhagen, Denmark)

Thomas is based in Copenhagen, Denmark and is the lead account manager for Denmark, Sweden, Israel and Southern Europe. He has more than 15 years of experience working in the financial sector, working as a sales trader and investment advisor prior to joining Nasdaq.

Thomas is fluent in Danish, English, Swedish, Norwegian, and conversational in Spanish and German. He has passed the NASD Series 7, 66 & 31 and holds an M.S. from Johnson and Wales University.


Sonja Salminen - thumbSonja Salminen, Managing Director (Helsinki, Finland)

Sonja oversees account management for the territories of Finland, France, UK, Poland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. She has over fifteen years of experience in market data and has worked at Nasdaq, former OMX and HEX Helsinki Stock Exchange market data since 2001. Prior to that she held sales positions at Bridge Information Systems (current division of Thomson Reuters) and Vapo Oy Biotech.

Sonja holds a Master´s degree from the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry majoring in Forest Economics.


Conor TaggartConor Taggart, Managing Director (London, UK)

As part of the GIS European Sales team, Conor was hired in 2018 to grow Nasdaq’s Alternative Data & Machine Learning offerings within Europe.

Previous to joining Nasdaq, Conor held European sales manager roles with the London Stock Exchange Group and Dow Jones International, selling Index data and sentiment feeds to the European buy-side community.

Conor holds a BSc in Business Management from Queens University Belfast & is currently completing his MBA at Heriot-Watt University.


Junior AninJunior Anin, Lead Sales Executive (London, UK)

Junior is based in London and is primarily responsible for clients in UK, Benelux, Italy, Portugal, UAE and other smaller territories. Prior to joining Nasdaq, Junior worked in the sales team at the London Stock Exchange for 4.5 years.

Junior is a keen basketball player and practices in his spare time. He holds a BSc. in Economics with politics from Loughborough. 

Asia Pacific Team

Tomas Franczyk - thumbTomas Damgaard Franczyk, Head of APAC (Hong Kong, China)

Tomas is managing information services activities in the Asian Pacific region. Tomas has been with Nasdaq since 2007 and has developed; implemented and executed GIS strategy for APAC, so that it has become a successful business. Tomas has increased Nasdaq’ brand awareness via a successfully implemented and executed sales- and marketing strategy, so that GIS has become the preferred partner for the majority of the financial institution in the region.

Tomas holds a Bachelor of Business and Finance from Copenhagen Business School (Denmark).


Conrad Chow - thumbConrad Chow, Sales Specialist (Hong Kong, China)

Conrad joined the Global Data team in 2016, primarily focuses on clients and prospects within the Asian Pacific region, especially the Greater China region. Before joining Nasdaq, Conrad was part of the Asian Pacific Sales Team at S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Conrad holds a MSc. in International Management from Royal Holloway, University of London.



Anny LiuAnny Liu (Hong Kong, China)

Anny Liu is a consultant with Nasdaq who has worked in the financial industry for more than 13 years. Her previous positions have included sales and management roles at Thomson Reuters and Mysis. 


Index Licensing and Advisor Solutions

Robert J. Hughes - thumbRobert J. Hughes, Head of Index and Advisor Solutions (New York, NY)  

Robert is responsible for managing and developing the Nasdaq Global Index business across the index licensing, benchmarking and custom calculation segments. He works with his global team to devise strategies and create business opportunities for current and prospective clients. Hughes previously served as Director for the Independent Research Network (IRN), a joint venture co-owned by Nasdaq® and Reuters. He spent more than a decade in Investors Relations and was also employed with Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor.

Hughes received a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and was a Monogram winner for the University’s nationally-renowned football team.


INDEX LICENSING AMERICAS 

Sean Wasserman - thumbSean Wasserman, Managing Director, Indexes (New York, NY)

Sean is responsible for sales and account management for the Nasdaq Global Indexes business in the Americas. His focus is on expanding the adoption of Nasdaq's benchmark services across the institutional investment community, managing relationships across the buy-side, sell-side, custodians, software vendors, institutional investment consultants, and asset owners. Sean has more than 10 years of experience in the index business across all aspects of business development.

Sean holds a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Criminology & Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and an MBA in Finance from the Fordham Graduate School of Business.


John Cassano - thumbJohn Cassano, Managing Director, Indexes (New York, NY)

John focuses on developing strategic relationships with institutions for benchmark analysis and calculation services. He has spent his career in the indexing world, previously serving as North American Sales Manager at S&P Dow Jones Indices.



INDEX LICENSING EMEA

Baris Parla - thumbBaris Parla, Managing Director, Indexes (London, UK)

Baris focuses on promoting Nasdaq’s suite of 40,000+ indices to be used as benchmarks, or as the basis of Indexed Funds, OTC, Securitized Products or ETPs in EMEA/Asia Region. He previously served as an Associate Director at S&P Dow Jones Indices.

Baris holds a Master’s Degree in International Business & Marketing from the Institute Superieur de Gestion and is fluent/proficient in English, French, Spanish and Turkish. 



INDEX LICENSING APAC 

Chris TseChris Tse, Head of Asia Pacific for Nasdaq Indexes (Hong Kong)

Chris has a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth in Asia Pacific where Nasdaq has established itself as a leading index provider for exchange traded products and advisor solutions.

With more than 22 years’ working experience in financial industry, Chris has a wealth of buy-side products and distribution experience to draw upon and was instrumental in setting up and growing FTSE Russell’s APAC index presence in the past.

He has been appointed as Honorary Fellow (Portfolio Management and Valuation) by Macquarie Applied Finance Centre, Macquarie University since 2015. Chris held two master degrees, one in Economic Analysis & Policy from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom and the other in Investment Management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Chris is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) holder and has extensive qualifications in investment and financial risk management (CAIA, CIPM, CIIA, FRM, PRM, CFP, FLMI, CLU etc).



ADVISOR SALES 

Andy Hyer - thumbAndy Hyer, Client Portfolio Manager, CFP®, CIMA®, CMT (Pasadena, CA)

Andy is a Client Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst at Dorsey Wright & Associates, a Nasdaq Company, in Pasadena, CA. He is responsible for sales and service of investment strategies across Dorsey Wright’s funds, ETFs and SMA accounts. He is also a regular contributor to Dorsey Wright research reports.

Since joining Dorsey Wright in 2004, he has authored original research on the subject of technical analysis and speaks and writes regularly on the topic of momentum investing. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM, Certified Investment Management Analyst, and a Chartered Market Technician. He holds a B.S. from Utah State University with a dual degree in Finance and Economics.

Dorsey, Wright & Associates, a Nasdaq company, is a registered investment advisory firm based in Richmond, Virginia. Since 1987, Dorsey Wright has been a leading advisor to Wall Street and investment managers worldwide. Dorsey Wright provides three essential services for their clients: comprehensive investment research and analysis, professional money management for institutions and individuals, and sub-advisory and licensing services to mutual funds and ETF providers.


PlaceholderRob DeAngelo, National Account Manager for Nasdaq Dorsey Wright (New York, New York)

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Rob DeAngelo graduated from Xavier High School in Manhattan and went on to receive his Bachelors degree in Business Finance from Marist College. After a short stay as an operations specialist at Credit Suisse, Rob spent almost 10 years at Neuberger Berman. During his time with NB, he was a junior FA on a Wealth Management team managing over $1 Billion in AUM, an internal wholesaler on the sales desk covering multiple territories, finally ending up as an external wholesaler based in Chicago covering 11 states in the Midwest.

Rob joined Dorsey Wright & Associates, A Nasdaq Company, in the summer of 2016 and is leading the sales and relationship efforts for the top wire houses and broker dealers around the country. Rob’s efforts include meeting with the firm’s home offices and presenting at branches all over the country to spread the Nasdaq Dorsey Wright message.


Connor KampConnor Kamp, Sales Analyst (New York, NY)

Connor is responsible for building relationships with financial advisors to expand their knowledge of Nasdaq Dorsey Wright’s advisor solutions and allow their clients to leverage Nasdaq Dorsey Wright’s expertise in relative strength investing. Connor’s focus is on sales of Nasdaq Dorsey Wright’s Systematic Relative Strength suite of managed account portfolios and Global Technical Research Platform, but he is also involved in the promotion of NDW’s partner-sponsored funds and is an occasional contributor to NDW’s research reports. He has a B.A. in Mathematics from Boston College and passed CFA Level I in 2018. 

Nasdaq Fixed Income Team

Peter Hald, - thumbPeter Hald, Head of Nasdaq Fixed Income Sales (London)

Peter manages the Nasdaq Fixed Income Data Sales group and has been with Nasdaq since 2013.

Prior to joining Nasdaq Peter worked at Inter-dealer broker BGC Partners heading-up their data sales team , and for Thomson Financial in a number of senior roles in New York and London including the launch of ILX Systems (now known as Thomson One), AutEx, Portia, and Beta Systems. He started his career selling IBM equipment to Wall Street and was hired by customer E.F. Hutton where he was soon posted to London to run the European division of their correspondent brokerage and information services group.

Peter lives in West London with his family and enjoys his passion for rugby, music and travel.
