Over the past 6 years, Nasdaq Program Management Team has implemented 28 major projects for more than 20 customers demonstrating an efficient delivery methodology and the ability of the team to effectively prioritize across multiple client engagements.

Pia Granqvist

Delivery Program Manager, Market Technology, Nasdaq

Pia Granqvist Pia is Delivery Program Manager with more than 14 years’ experience from managing projects of different kinds, Delivery Projects, Customer Systems Integration projects, Development projects and Verification projects. Throughout her career she has gained experience from different businesses and cultures. She has been working for both small and big companies and thereby learnt to be flexible and adjust the leadership according to the needs. Pia has an International certification in Project Management as PMP from PMI since 2007.

Pia is working with sales and delivery of customer projects of financial systems at Nasdaq. Products that she is working with are clearing and trading systems as well as Central Security Depository systems. Customers that she has been working are located in Asia, Saudi Arabia as well as in Australia. Pia has also been delivering customized telecom solutions to Mobile operators in Sweden, Japan and Slovenia as well as customized IPTV solutions to operators in Austria and Sweden.

Memorable achievement: An example of where Pia made a difference is when she took over a catastrophic project that was half way through but had failed. This was a delivery project to a Swedish mobile operator. The customer was very upset and ready to cancel the project, but through Pia’s dedication, ability to structure the complex situation and ability to create a tight joint team together with the customer, she managed to win back the trust from the customer and finally deliver according to the aligned scope and time plan.

Hedwig Grut

Delivery Program Manager, Market Technology, Nasdaq

Hedwig GrutSince 2007, Hedwig has lead bid and delivery projects at Nasdaq. Projects involve providing trading and clearing solutions to startups and well established exchanges and clearinghouses. The scope of the implementation projects are integration with different products, new development and configuration of gateways and functionality to support the clients’ unique business model, migration of existing trading solutions to the new trading engine.

Prior to joining Nasdaq, Hedwig has been in the IT industry (gaming, telco, utilities, consumer product goods) for 20 years with various roles in project management, sales, development and test lead. Hedwig holds a M Sc in Vehicle Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and is PMP® certified at Project Management Institute.

Memorable achievement: A great experience is when we managed to deliver a project involving migration to a new trading engine 4 weeks ahead of schedule early, due to close cooperation and extensive early testing with the client.

Dawn Leo

Senior Project Manager, SMARTS Integrity Solutions, Nasdaq

Dawn LeonDawn started working with SMARTS when the company was initially formed in 1997 and was focused on requirements gathering, custom alerts and reports development, testing, training and documentation. In 1998 Dawn moved on to enhance her skills in Business Analysis in the Superannuation Industry. Dawn returned to SMARTS in 2004 and has progressed through the roles of Communications Officer, Client Relationship Manager and Account Manager. Dawn is currently one of the Senior Project Managers for SMARTS Integrity Solutions.

Dawn holds a Honours in Finance and a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting and Finance from University of Sydney, Australia.

Memorable Achievement: “Over the years I have had the privilege to work with over 10 SMARTS Integrity customers. The best experiences have come from projects where we had established excellent communication and understanding; and gained a strong, trusting and co-operative working relationship with our customers. This enabled me and my delivery team to work “with”, and not “for”, the customer to deliver a quality project on time and to budget."

Kim Tang

Project and Trading Engine Development Manager, Nasdaq

With almost 20 years’ of experience in the exchange business, Kim Tang currently works as a Project Manager and Trading Engine Development Manager for Nasdaq’s X-stream Trading Engine Software and is also assigned as a Technical Account Manager for several existing clients of X-stream Trading.

Kim’s main responsibilities include developing and installing the X-stream Trading Systems for new clients around the world. He has worked with exchanges from all backgrounds and sizes and is involved from presales to design studies to development to implementation and finally ongoing support.

Kim studied Computer Science at Macquarie University in Sydney.

Memorable Achievement: One of Kim’s accomplishments was successfully implementing the first ever X-stream platform. “I was involved from the very beginning in presales and then proceeded to configure and customize the system to the customer’s specifications, as well as conducted all the training, implementation and support. The client was and still is extremely happy with Nasdaq and X-stream.“

Sven Tapper

Delivery Program Manager, Market Technology, Nasdaq

Sven TapperSven has 25 years of experience in finance, IT and technology, with 20 of those years spent as a manager developing IT systems with very significant requirements on reliability, functionality and performance.

In his role as a Delivery Program Manager at Nasdaq he combines his interest in managing global projects and being able to work closely with both the customer and development organizations. Sven has managed projects delivering several different products including Trading, Clearing, CSD, Risk Management and Surveillance. Sven has extensive experience in managing Market Readiness Projects to ensure that the market participants are ready when a new system is introduced. Sven is PMP® certified at Project Management Institute.

Memorable Achievement: I was part of successfully introducing a new trading (INET) and clearing system (CCP) at the Nasdaq Nordic Exchange. These projects were followed by a combined delivery and market readiness program to deliver a solution based on three Nasdaq products to a Middle East exchange. “I really enjoyed this program in particular because as market readiness project manager I was able to work with the local members of the exchange to ensure their readiness with the new technology. This is an example on how a delivery program can be extended with additional value services, reusing knowledge and best practices from Nasdaq’s own marketplaces”.

Jim Wee

Associate Vice President, Market Technology, Nasdaq

Jim WeeJim has an extensive experience in managing projects in the financial industry since 1995. His first experience included delivering technology components to the Australian Securities Exchange for their new Trading Platform.

Since then he has managed implementations of X-stream Trading to exchanges all around the world. Implementations have ranged from between 6 months and 2 years and through vast experience, the delivery methodology has evolved over the years to create a model which achieves the minimal time from the start of the project to Go Live.

Jim holds a Bachelor degree of applied science and also a Master of Science in computing from the University of Technology, Sydney Australia

Memorable Achievement: Appreciation received from clients has been very personal, but for me it’s very important to emphasize that it is only as a team do delivery project succeed.
